Red Hair

Red is the color of war, love, passion and most of all it is the color of fierceness.  Having this as a hair color indicates that the person is not afraid to change image of try out new things. Although one might think that red is a simple color, it is the total opposite. Red have many shades, not all type of red can make a person look good. It is a matter of choosing the right red in order to look good, feel good and most of all send a striking message. One thing to take note of when looking for the right tone of red for a hair color is the person’s skin tone and color. It is not automatic that when a specific color looks entirely stunning for a person, it will achieve the same effect on another.

If a person has dark or olive skin color, making a statement is easy by taking vivid violet or red hair colors. Also, considering dark auburn or burgundy will mesh well with the given skin tone. Likewise, such colors will generally work well if the skin tone is a bit dark. On the other hand, colors such as red that is quite pale, strawberry blond, light auburn, copper and the likes should be avoided for persons with dark skin tones since it will look weird and unflattering.

For persons with medium skin tones, red tones such as brownish red to medium auburn will work just fine. But colors such as extremely light violets, bright coppers and dark auburns are the red tones that should be avoided.  If the skin tone is fair, choosing light shades or red will do no harm. By and large, strawberry blond, light copper or terra cotta shades will work well with persons with fair to light skin tone.

As a rule of thumb, choosing hair colors is not about what the hair color before was. It is all about the skin tone. Given above are the three main types of skin tones namely: the dark skin tone, medium skin tone and the fair to light skin tone.  It is not a good idea to totally go to the end of the spectrum to choose and randomly choose a color.

If one has not had a red hair color before, consulting the professional should be done first. Also, hair coloring in a salon will give better and optimal results rather than doing hair color endeavors at home. After a hair treatment in a salon, the hair looks shiny and relatively healthy. When doing hair colors at home, utmost caution should be exercised in order to avoid hair tragedies. If such happens, go the nearest salon and get it fixed. But if it goes well, then flaunt that newly colored  red hair!
