Considering going red on hair color is not a bad idea since certain shades of red works well with a lot of individuals. Having a hair color in the salon or doing it at home can work just fine as long the correct shade or red is chosen. Red has different shades ranging from strawberry blond to burgundy. Not all shades of red works well with all people but some shades on a specific person will look entirely good and yummy. Given such, there is a need to conduct constant maintenance on the hair to achieve a continuous and lustrous red hair. Using shampoo and conditioner that is made for red hair maintenance should be used to prolong the hair color. In addition, using hair protection products to avoid damaged to colored hair will make it look not just red but also healthy. From the day that a person got red in terms of hair, using such products will be a must. Considering the sun, it would be best not to be exposed to too much sun since it dries up and damages the hair. Extra measures should be taken such as wearing hats and the likes.

Skin tone plays a big role in choosing the correct hair color. Brunettes look stunningly well on darker shades since it complements their complexion. If the person has medium skin color, going darker or lighter is possible. Making the decision on what hair shade of red to choose is entirely difficult to do if it is being done for the first time. Experimenting first can be done by having strand test. Having professional opinion from a hairstylist is the best bet when going red.
